Location
Unique Property with the perfect location. Close to Airport, restaurants, shopping. Walk, ski, snow machine, canoe, kayak, boat all from the property shoreline . Riverboat/ float plane demo twice daily directly in front of the property. Fantastic photo ops. TOURS AVAILABLE: Chena Hot Springs, Pipeline, Santa Clause House, Dog sled rides, skiing, canoeing, etc. If you have particular wants or needs, please ask and I will do the best to accommodate.
The Chena River Roadhouse is just steps away from the Chena River. The roadhouse is a classic log house has a remote and rustic vibe but is conveniently located near the airport, shops and restaurants. If you have particular wants or needs, please ask and I will do the best to accommodate. I can't make the Northen Lights appear but if they are out, you will see them from the deck.
Guest Access
Large property has heated garage, lots of storage space, large deck for observation or entertaining. Large grass area before you hit the riverbank. Easy Chena River access and a beautiful view in any direction. There is a large grassy area perfect for Tents and an Outdoor Tent house perfect for backpackers that want to be out of the rain but still have the camping experience. You can see our resident Beaver's almost nightly and they carve their home from the riverbank.
Interaction with Guests
Transportation provided to store as soon as you arrive from the airport. Full size refrigerator, bottled water and healthy packaged foods upon arrival. Coffee, tea, packaged soups- instant hot water.
The Neighborhood
This gorgeous property is located next to The Riverboat Discovery and walking distance to Pikes Waterfront Restaurant and Lounge. Approx 100 miles to Denali Park.
Getting Around
This property is close to the bus line and rental car agency. Transportation most likely provided.
ABOUT REBECCA
My family came to Alaska in 1902 from Yugoslavia. A lot of my ancestors photos can be seen at The Pioneer Park Alaska History Museum. My mother was Miss Alaska in 1945. I grew up in San Jose California but got to spend my summers in Alaska. I always wanted to be on a canoe or raft floating on The Chena River. While on a boat trip in 2005, I saw the for sale sign go up and I purchased this little piece of Paradise on The Chena River. I believe it is the best location in town and when I saw the Northern Lights from the Deck, I was so thrilled because you usually can not see them when you are this close to town.
Rebecca is a Massage Therapist and Cosmetologist licensed in California and Alaska since 1983. You will most likely see people getting haircuts or having massages on her massage chair right on the deck or in the living room. After traveling one of her massages hits the spot and is the perfect relaxation treatment to mellow you into your peaceful experience at The Chena River Roadhouse.
Other Things to Note
Most loving and beautiful dog on property. 100 lb Great Pyrenees, Yukon. She will melt your heart and be one of the great Majestic Memories of your trip. If you don't like dogs, this is not the place for you, she lives here. I was on vacation in Texas and rescued Yukon's Mama and seven puppies from a farm. We washed all the dogs for a day and I fell in love with the littlest girl and bright her home. I had her for two weeks before she saw the vet and she was only six pounds. I have had her ever since and now she is 106 lbs, still the runt and small for her breed. A Great Pyrenees.
